Content of the short-term learning experience
The goal of the course entitled "Inclusive Design for the Green Transition" is primarily to raise awareness among listeners about the importance of inclusive design, both for people and the environment, and ultimately about its positive impact on the development of companies and the environment, where inclusive design becomes the primary way of product development, especially in the case of consumer products.
The content of the education can be summarized in the following points:
- Introduction to the paradigm and basic concepts of inclusive design.
- Why is inclusive design friendlier to people and the environment?
- Understanding the diversity of people and their abilities to use products.
- Dimensions of inclusive design and related activities.
- Principles of inclusive design.
- Dilemmas to be faced and clarified within the framework of inclusive design.
- Digital and practical tools for inclusive design.
- Case studies.

Prof. Dr. Bojan Dolšak
Professor Dr. Bojan Dolšak is the head of the Chair of Construction and Design at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maribor. Pedagogically and in research, he focuses on various aspects of modern computer-aided integrated product development, ensuring that products meet diverse criteria and fulfill the expectations of end-users. He encountered inclusive design for the first time in 2014 within the framework of collaboration on the European project ErgoWork. Since then, he has been incorporating the principles of inclusive design into the pedagogical process while simultaneously conducting research in this field. He is the author of the textbook "Ergonomic Aspects of Product Development," in which one chapter is also dedicated to the presentation of inclusive design.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Jasmin Kaljun
Assistant Professor Dr Jasmin Kaljun is the head of the master's degree program in Product Design at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maribor. His research and teaching focus on introducing creative approaches to product design and development, based on ergonomic and aesthetic principles and supported by computer-aided design. He places particular emphasis on implementing advanced product development methodologies grounded in the principles of inclusive design, user-centred design, creative product development, and industrial design. He is the co-author of the university textbook "Ergonomic Aspects of Product Development," which also addresses the field of inclusive design.

Objectives and competences
Within the framework of the education, participants will gain competencies that will enable them to develop inclusive products. Additionally, they will be able to recognize products that can be improved by using the principles of inclusive design, in terms of including a larger population of potential users and simultaneously reducing negative impacts on the environment. These acquired competencies will be demonstrated through the creation and presentation (defence) of a seminar assignment.

Prerequisites for enrolling
The education is intended for development engineers who typically already encounter challenges addressed by inclusive design in their work. The education program is based on the assumption that participants are familiar with the basic principles of product development, with an emphasis on the design phase.
